Welcome to the motion graphics, visual fx and animation studio Poke it With a Stick.

Poke it With a Stick is run by Director and Creative Director Aslan Livingstone-Ra and Illustrator Tamasen Franks.

Aslan is an award winning London based designer/animator/producer/creative director with more than 20 years experience in the broadcast industry. Having worked for network news and entertainment in both the USA and UK.

Tamasen is a London based illustrator and fine artist.

Since 2020 we have been working closely with Disney on animated promos, branding and B2B merchandizing. Especially for Disney+, National Geographic and Disney Studios.

Before this we worked with Disney on their flagship children’s channels Disney Jr, Disney XD and The Disney Channel.

We provided the graphical elements for the 3 part documentry ‘Rafsanjani’ by ORMedia.

Since 2016 Poke it With a Stick has provided all the animated content for deep sea exploration charity Nekton

We were also commissioned by CGTN Razor to produce 3 series of animated science explainers.

In 2016 Aslan spent 4 years as 'Animator In Residence' at BBC Newsnight, the BBC's flagship current affairs programme. He has also worked as producer/animator for the Al Jazeera network's environmental strand 'Earthrise' and motion graphics designer for BBC News. including the One, Six, Ten and News Channel broadcasts as well as 'The One Show'. He co-created the BBC's opening titles for 'Global with Jon Sopal' as well as the BBC's ongoing 'Budget' brand.

Before joining the BBC he worked with the ABC Network in the US, producing/editing for 'Good Morning America' and 'World News Tonight' and producing/editing/directing/graphics for 'Nightline'.

Studio software includes: Cinema 4D, Octane Render, Redshift, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Embergen and Liquigen amongst others.  

Clients Include: BBC, ITV, CH4, Nekton, CGTN Europe, Disney, Deluxe, Yoyo Pop, Recipe, ORMedia, Gravity, MMMultiply, ABC News, Al Jazeera and Blacklist Creative amongst others.
